WILL WRAPS EREBUS ERA

WILL DAVISON wrapped up his two seasons with Erebus Motorsport with three hotly-contested races on the streets of Sydney Olympic Park over the weekend.

In typically hot conditions, the final race of the 2015 V8 Supercar season on the streets of the former Olympic site at Homebush saw Will have a series of issues that kept him out of contention.

“I would have liked to finish my time at Erebus on a high of course, but it wasn’t to be. I’ve enjoyed my time at the team, there’s some great people there, and I want to thank Betty particularly for her support,” Will Davison said.

FRIDAY
  • Overcast conditions, three practice sessions
  • Will 18th fastest in Practice 1
  • Will 15th fastest in Practice 2
  • Will 10th fastest in Practice 3
“It seemed okay in the end, we improved the car a fair bit across the day. It’s hard to tell of course but we don’t seem miles away, we’re a realistic shot at the top 10 at this stage.”

SATURDAY
  • Will 12th fastest in final practice
  • Will qualifies 15th for Race 34
  • Will qualifies 11th for Race 35
  • Will finishes 13th in Race 34
  • Will finishes 11th in Race 35
“In the first race we made a bit of progress but in the second it was hotter and unfortunately might drink bottle wasn’t working, so I was pretty spent by the end of the race. When you’re not hydrated in those conditions it’s tough. We did what we could with what we had.”

SUNDAY
  • Will qualifies 14th for Race 36
  • Will finishes 18th in Race 36
“It was a tough way to end my time at Erebus. I got hit on the opening lap and that damaged the rear bumper, so I had to pit to have it removed, and that really put us out of the game. There were other issues too which meant I just couldn’t recover the ground, it was a long day for little reward.”
