TESTING TIMES AT SYDNEY MOTORSPORT PARK

WILL DAVISON had a tough time at Sydney Motorsport Park in Races 18 and 19 of the 2016 Supercars Championship.

Battling an indifferent handling car on Saturday, Will came home 22nd and then on Sunday an early race fuel miscalculation cost Will a lap, and any chance of a competitive finish.

FRIDAY
  • Overcast conditions, rain late in Practice 1
  • 21st quickest in Practice 1
  • 22nd in Practice 2
“Tough day with changeable conditions in the first session. We tried a new brake package & it’s got potential but it needs more work, so we will go back to our proven stuff for tomorrow. Otherwise we are still searching for speed … more work to do.”

SATURDAY
  • 13th fastest in Practice 3
  • Will qualifies 13th for Race 18
  • Will finishes 22nd in Race 18
“There’s something not right with the car and we just didn’t have any speed today, just like the Sunday race at QR. We’ve tried lots of things and not unlocked what the issue is. We’ll tear everything apart overnight and have another look.”

SUNDAY
  • Will qualifies 19th for Race 19
  • Moves up to 10th before first stop
  • Fuel miscalculation loses Will a lap
  • Finishes 26th in Race 19
“Not a lot you can say really. We fuelled the car for a short first stint but there was a miscalculation and the car ran out toward the end of my in lap. I rolled to a stop in pitlane and by the time I got going again, we’d lost a lap and any chance (of a good result).”
